Primary Transmitter Discovery Based on Image Processing in Cognitive Radio

چکیده
The subject of secondary spectrum usage has been a hot research topic for some time now. Secondary users should be able to detect available primary frequency bands and use these spectrum opportunities without causing any harmful interference to primary users. The aim of this paper is to propose a new methodology, based on image processing techniques, which combines a number of sensed samples at different random geographical positions collected by secondary sensors, in order to build a map with the positions and coverage areas of the different primary transmitters. The results can be used to discover frequencies that can be used by a secondary market without causing interference to primary receivers and without any type of cooperation between primary and secondary networks.

On The Secrecy of the Cognitive Interference Channel with Channel State
In this paper the secrecy problem in the cognitive state-dependent interference channel is considered. In this scenario we have a primary and a cognitive transmitter-receiver pairs. The cognitive transmitter has the message of the primary sender as side information. In addition, the state of the channel is known at the cognitive encoder. Hence, the cognitive encoder uses this side information t...
متن کاملPerformance Improvement of the Cognitive Radio Networks with User Cooperation
The cognitive radio has been considered as a promising paradigm to achieve efficient spectrum usage by allowing the coexistence of the primary and cognitive radio networks. One fundamental challenge is to ensure the quality of service (QoS) of the primary link while maximizing the achievable transmission rate of the cognitive radio user. In this paper, we investigate the cooperation based spect...
متن کاملNeighbor Discovery in Multi-Receiver Cognitive Radio Networks∗
A cognitive radio (CR) node is a radio device capable of operating (transmitting and receiving) over multiple channels. As a result, a network consisting of one or more cognitive radio nodes can adapt to varying channel availability in its geographical region by dynamically changing the channel (or channels) that nodes use for communication. We investigate the problem of neighbor discovery in a...
متن کاملStable throughput of cognitive radios with relaying capability
A cognitive interference channel consists of two single-user links, one licensed to use the spectral resource (primary) and one unlicensed (secondary or cognitive). According to the cognitive radio principle, the activity of the secondary link should not interfere with the performance of the primary. The cognitive transmitter is allowed to access the channel only when sensed idle. In this pape...
متن کاملDYN-MAC: A MAC Protocol for Cognitive Radio Networks with Dynamic Control Channel Assignment
Cognitive radio is one of the most promising wireless technologies and has been recognized as a new way to improve the spectral efficiency of wireless networks. In a cognitive radio network, secondary users exchange control information for network coordination such as transmitter-receiver handshakes, for sharing spectrum sensing results, for neighbor discovery, to maintain connectivity, and so ...
